Introducing the used Yamaha b3 SG2 Silent Upright Piano c.2016

As the top of the range b Series instrument, the b3 is a real step up from the compact b1 and b2 models, sharing many of its components with the universally acclaimed, Japanese built Yamaha U1 upright piano while remaining superb value for money. At 121cm tall it produces a rich and resonant tone, while longer keys than the b1 and b2 provide a more responsive touch.

With Yamaha's previous generation SG2 Silent system it becomes a superb blend of acoustic and digital technology, allowing the piano to not only be played acoustically but also with headphones, making it completely silent to everyone but the pianist!

This example of the b3 SG2 was manufactured in 2016 and remains in superb condition. While new Silent pianos, due to the current shortage of silicon chips, are currently in very short supply with incredibly long lead times, this presents a very attractive opportunity to purchase a very capable modern Silent piano.

Activate the silent mode and a rail moves between the hammers and the strings to 'switch off' the acoustic piano. Highly sophisticated optical sensor technology captures the precise movement of each key and you can hear the beautiful sound of a Yamaha concert grand through your headphones.

SG2 Silent system

Select from a pallet of 10 high quality instrument voices to suit your musical genre. SG2 also features a metronome, 1 track record facility, MIDI IN/OUT for use as a controller keyboard, along with a USB to DEVICE port, making it a very capable and useful tool for the creative and learning musician alike.

Installation at the Yamaha factory

Unlike most silent systems, Yamaha's Silent systems are installed during the manufacturing process. Yamaha piano actions are designed to accomodate Silent systems, so you can be sure of the highest quality performance and reliability. Nothing has been compromised!
