The Shigeru Kawai range, named after the adopted son of the founder of the well respected Japanese piano manufacturer, represents the very finest quality craftsmanship Kawai has to offer. With refined components throughout, the handmade Shigeru Kawai SK2 grand piano offers a remarkable level of performance. Assembled by master technicians, the bass strings are hand wound and the soundboard made from specially selected, aged spruce for a mature and warm tone. Kawai's own 'Shiko Seion' hand pressed hammers are fitted to the world renowned Millennium III action, while concert specification agraffes are borrowed from the flagship EX concert grand. The Millennium III action is made up of ABS carbon components for enhanced stability and is known as the fastest repeating action in the world. The keys are longer than those in the standard range too, to give the piano an unrivalled level of control and expression. Kawai's specialist Shigeru Kawai technicians perform the final checks and bespoke setup on each instrument to ensure the finest quality.
