Introducing the Welmar Model B upright piano
Welmar was a well known manufacturer of quality British upright and grand pianos. The company ceased trading in 2003, making them one of the last British manufacturers to close, but to this day Welmar pianos remain very popular and are renowned for their remarkable build quality.
Consequently Welmar pianos can often be found in school practice rooms, teaching studios and in the home, where they were often selected for their mellow tone and beautiful wood veneer finishes.
As a later example of a Welmar piano, this traditional style upright was manufactured in c.1995 and has been very well looked after.
At 123cm tall it is a great size of larger instrument, positioned between the height of a Yamaha U1 and U3. It would make for an excellent choice for the intermediate to advanced pianist and has a lovely mellow tone, very typical of larger British built instruments.
