Introducing the Yamaha Arius YDP-S54 digital piano
A very capable digital piano in a modern, slimline cabinet with a soft closing lid that offers excellent value for money. Designed to fit into any space, the YDP-S54 is designed to be neat and compact while retaining a full length keyboard and 3 pedals, as found on an acoustic grand piano.
The GH3 keyboard action mechanism is borrowed from the previous generation Clavinova models, with 3 sensors to accurately recreate the response of an acoustic grand piano while synthetic ivory and ebony key surfaces give a luxurious and tactile feel. Its sound is sampled from Yamaha's flagship 9'0 long CFX concert grand, considered to be one of the finest concert grands of modern times, which is authentically reproduced by 2 x 12cm speakers, powered by 2 x 20 watt amplifiers.
The instrument produces plenty of sound to fill a living room, and for when it can't be played at full volume, Yamaha's clever IAC 'Intelligent Acoustic Control' and 'Stereophonic Optimiser' technologies tweak the sound to retain its rich and spatial quality, even at low volumes or through headphones. It is completed by an onboard two track record facility with a metronome, along with USB to HOST for use as a controller keyboard or with Yamaha's Smart Pianist app for iOS and Android.

Newly sampled for the YDP-S54, the Yamaha's flagship 9' CFX concert grand piano, offers sparkling highs and a powerful resonant bass combined in a sound that projects to the furthest reaches of any concert hall. The CFX was played by the winner of the prestigious International Chopin Competition in 2010, and has since gained recognition as one of the greatest concert grands of modern times.
Authentic acoustic piano playability
With an 88-key piano action and synthetic ivory and ebony keys, the Graded Hammer 3 (GH3) keyboard reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano, from the heavy feel in the lower register to a lighter touch in the upper octaves. The GH3 features a three-sensor configuration that, accurately senses and interprets the behavior of the keyboard to provide a grand piano-style response and feel, allowing rapid note repetition and authentic expressive control.

The YDP-S54 offers convenient functions for when you cannot always play the piano at high volume. Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) adjusts the sound automatically to allow players to enjoy balanced sound at any volume level. Stereophonic Optimizer lets players enjoy the natural, spacious sound experienced when sitting in front of an acoustic piano, even when wearing headphones. When using this function, voices sampled from acoustic pianos are perceived to come from the body of the instrument itself, not your headphones, providing a comfortable, natural experience.
