Introducing the Kawai GL-30 Aures 2 grand piano

Enjoy the playing experience of a 'normal' acoustic piano with the GL 30 AURES 2 which features a new and improved hammer stop rail system, allowing the hammer's escapement from the strings to be identical when in muting mode as in acoustic mode. This means there is no compromise in the quality of touch when playing digitally using headphones.

With longer strings and bigger soundboard, the bass of the piano is dramatically improved with a greater depth of sound and possesses all the essential qualities that have made Kawai pianos a preferred choice for pianists and educators for generations.

AnyTime and AURUS hybrid pianos

Part of the AURES 2 range from Kawai, this piano is a premium grand that has been made to blend expert craftsmanship with advanced digital sound technologies from the highly regarded Concert artist and Novus product lines. AURES 2 instruments are premium digital pianos that can be played silently with headphones. Players can practice new pieces in silence using a variety of high-quality samples, use the built-in metronome and even record their performance. There is also an option to play along with tracks from a Bluetooth-connected smart device.

Millennium III Action

The ground-breaking Millennium III Action utilises components made of ABS-Carbon—a composite material infused with carbon fibre. ABS-Carbon is incredibly strong and rigid, meaning that GL Series action parts can be made lighter without sacrificing strength. The result is a stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.

Tapered, solid spruce soundboard

The purpose of the soundboard is to transform the vibrations of the piano’s strings into a rich, resounding tone. Kawai uses only straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce for GL Series soundboards. Each one is strategically tapered to provide the optimum degree of resonant movement in each region. Only soundboards that meet or exceed our demanding resonance standards are selected for use in the GL Series grand pianos.

Soft-closing fallboard

While the entry-level model in the grand piano range, this grand also benefits from a soft-closing lid or fallboard. A luxurious feature previously only high end instruments and means no more trapped fingers!
