Introducing the Yamaha G Series grand pianos

Based on the design of the industry standard Conservatoire series grand pianos, Yamaha G Series grand pianos combine Yamaha’s uncompromising build quality with outstanding value for money. A small but neatly defined range of three different sized models, the Yamaha G Series is a great entry point to grand piano ownership and available to compare against the Yamaha CX series and Kawai GL series at our Haslemere showroom.

Each model is available with Silent Technology - allowing you to play silently, using headphones, any time of day or night, also as a Disklavier self-playing piano. The GC1 is also available as a TransAcoustic model, enabling quiet practice without the need for headphones.

Yamaha GC1 & GC2 grand pianos

The first models produced at Yamaha’s main production facility in Hamamatsu, Japan, the GC1 and GC2 grand pianos are based on the design of the popular C1 and C2 models, measuring 5’3” and 5’8” long respectively. Improved features over the smaller GB1K include an adjustable music desk and a lid support bar, while internally the GC1 and GC2 are also technically superior. Duplex scaling enables the traditionally non-speaking parts of the string to vibrate, adding harmonics, while the larger soundboard, made from more mature spruce with a tighter grain, along with longer strings provides noticeably more power and overall depth of tone. An excellent mid-point between the GB1K and the CX Series, a GC Series grand piano provides superior performance at an affordable price.
