The Kawai K-200 AURES2 combines the authentic touch and tone of an acoustic upright piano with the flexibility of advanced hybrid technology. Built around an acoustic piano

At its heart is the Kawai K-200 upright piano, featuring the renowned Millennium III action and a solid spruce tapered soundboard. This provides the responsive touch and expressive performance expected from a quality acoustic instrument before any digital technology is introduced.

Silent practice with authentic touch

When Silent mode is activated, a specially developed muting system prevents the hammers from striking the strings, allowing private practice through headphones without changing the feel of the piano. Kawai's Integrated Hammer Sensing System measures hammer movement using contactless optical sensors, enabling the digital sound engine to respond naturally to every performance.

Flagship digital piano sound

When using its digital functions, the AURES2 reproduces the sound of Kawai's flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano using the advanced SK-EX Rendering sound engine. Resonance modelling technology adds further realism, creating a rich and expressive playing experience through headphones or the piano's integrated sound system.

More than a traditional upright piano

Alongside its acoustic piano voices, the AURES2 offers a range of additional instrument sounds including electric pianos, organs and strings. Sounds can be layered or split across the keyboard, while recording functions and a built-in metronome provide useful tools for both practice and performance.

Integrated Bluetooth Audio and MIDI allow compatible smart devices to connect wirelessly for music streaming and app control. The dedicated Kawai PianoRemote app provides convenient access to sound selection, recording functions, metronome settings and other digital features directly from your smartphone or tablet.
