Introducing the Welmar A10 upright piano c.1984
Welmar was one of the UK's most prolific and highly respected piano manufacturers, established in by Whelpdale, Maxwell & Codd in c.1925 and enjoying a long-standing relationship with the prestigious Bluthner piano company of Leipzig, Germany.
Production sadly ceased in 2003, however the Welmar brand remains synonymous with quality, their pianos popular with music teachers and professionals, renowned for their mellow, singing tone, and easy yet responsive and well balanced touch.
This example of the compact model A10, manufactured in c.1984 at their Clapham, London factory, is finished in an elegant, high-gloss ebony polish finish with brass fittings, and would not look out of place in even the most contemporary interiors.
The action is in excellent condition too, with very little wear and freshly serviced by our house technician. While similar in size to the popular Yamaha b1 and Kawai K15, the Welmar A10 delivers a very different playing experience and is worth comparing.
