Yamaha YDP-S36 digital upright piano

The Yamaha YDP-S36 is a slim digital upright piano that combines authentic piano performance with a contemporary design created for modern living. Designed for beginners, returning players and everyday home practice, it features an 88-key weighted keyboard, the sound of Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand piano and a range of built-in learning and connectivity features to support musical development.

Its streamlined cabinet fits comfortably into a variety of living spaces while providing the realistic touch, expressive sound and practical features that make playing enjoyable for years to come.

Natural piano feel

The YDP-S36 features Yamaha's 88-key Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard, designed to recreate the natural feel of an acoustic piano with heavier lower keys and a lighter response in the upper register. This familiar touch helps players develop good technique while providing a comfortable and rewarding playing experience.

The three-pedal unit includes damper, soft and sostenuto pedals, while half-pedal functionality allows greater control over sustain and expressive performance.

Sampled from Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand

The YDP-S36 features a piano voice sampled from Yamaha's renowned CFX concert grand piano, delivering a rich and expressive sound with clear highs and a powerful bass response. Whether practising scales or performing your favourite pieces, it provides a balanced and natural piano tone across the full keyboard.

Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) recreates the complex resonance produced when the strings and body of an acoustic piano vibrate together, adding greater depth and realism to every performance.

Designed for modern living

The YDP-S36 has been designed to fit effortlessly into contemporary homes. Its slim cabinet and refined styling allow it to blend naturally into living rooms, apartments and smaller spaces, while the keyboard lid closes to create a clean, minimalist appearance when not in use.

An 8W × 2 stereo amplification system works alongside two 12cm speakers with diffuser grilles to deliver clear, balanced sound, while a headphone connection allows you to practise quietly whenever you choose.

With 10 instrument voices and 353 built-in songs, the YDP-S36 offers plenty of opportunities to develop your playing and explore new musical ideas. From traditional piano sounds to electric piano and strings, there is a variety of voices to enjoy.

Bluetooth connectivity allows compatible devices to connect for music streaming and playing along with your favourite tracks, making everyday practice even more engaging.

More convenience with the Smart Pianist app

Simply connect the free Yamaha Smart Pianist app to the YDP-S36 via Bluetooth to unlock even more features. The app provides an intuitive way to control compatible piano functions from your smart device, making it easy to adjust settings and access useful tools.

You can also view sheet music for all 353 preset songs, take advantage of practice support functions and record your performances directly to your device, making it a valuable companion for both learning and everyday playing.
