Crafted at Yamaha's concert grand manufacturing facility in Hamamatsu Japan, each YUS Series piano is created from specially selected materials by time served artisan craftsmen, with uncompromising quality and refinement at the very heart of the process.
Each model is available with Silent and TransAcoustic technology, enabling private practice at any hour, along with MIDI connectivity and many other useful features. YUS1 is also available as a Disklavier, self-playing piano.
Built on the same frame as the incredibly popular Yamaha U1 upright, measuring 121cm tall, the YUS1 upright takes this proven recipe and improves upon it hugely. Improved component and material quality includes hand-spun bass strings, a more mature spruce for the soundboard and mahogany hammers with a more refined lambs wool covering. This, encased in an elegant cabinet with clean lines and soft closing fallboard which retracts into the piano to not spoil the aesthetic, makes for a mature and resonant instrument, certain to meet the demands of advanced professional and home pianists alike.

In a similar vein to the YUS1 and U1 uprights, the YUS3 improves enormously on the refinement and overall resonance of the U3S, the industry standard upright piano for practice and performance. The improved component quality and maturity of soundboard in an instrument of this size results in a marked difference in tonality and control, a beautifully balanced sound reminiscent of a small grand piano. A sostenuto pedal instead of the celeste pedal found on the smaller U1 gives the YUS3 the same pedals as found on a Yamaha grand piano.

Sitting at the top of the YUS Series, the YUS5 is a firm Chamberlain Pianos favourite and one we always try to have in stock and ready for selection. Built on the same 131cm frame as the YUS3, the YUS5 benefits from the same improved component quality, with mahogany hammer cores, refined lambs wool hammer felt and a mature solid spruce soundboard. Enhanced features over the YUS3 include the same key coverings as the CX Series grand pianos - synthetic ivory 'Ivorite' naturals and wood composite (WPC) sharps, providing a greater level of grip and control. The styling is different too, a grander console style design with an opening front panel to enhance sound projection, also doubling up as a tilting music desk. A sostenuto pedal affords the pianist the same pedal mechanisms as a Yamaha grand piano, while the piano also benefits from a lever operated celeste mechanism to enable quieter practice.
