Introducing the Kawai K-200 Upright Piano

Measuring just 114cm tall, the Kawai K-200 is ideal for those with limited space, without compromising on touch or performance. Built using high-quality components, including a solid spruce soundboard, the K-200 shares much of its design with the larger K-300, making it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a high-quality acoustic piano for a smaller room.

A significant upgrade from the entry-level Kawai K-15E, the K-200 is the first traditional-style model in the range and the first to feature a soft-closing fallboard. This luxurious addition also provides an important health and safety benefit, particularly in schools and educational settings.

The K-200 is also the first model in the range to feature Kawai's Millennium III ABS-Carbon action. Incorporating carbon-fibre-infused components, this innovative action is designed to deliver exceptionally quick response, smooth performance and lasting accuracy.

Premium quality components

The soundboard and ribs are considered the most important sound producing components of a piano, with both the materials used and the manner in which they are assembled greatly affecting volume and tonal quality. The K-200 soundboard is produced using the finest quality straight-grained spruce, carefully selected and scientifically tested to exceed KAWAI’s demanding resonance standards, ensuring exceptional dynamic range and outstanding tonal balance across the entire sound spectrum.

Superior touch and reliability

The K-200 features the specially developed Millennium III ABS-Carbon upright piano action, combining carbon fibre with ABS to produce a lightweight yet incredibly strong and reliable mechanism. To improve the action’s climatic stability, KAWAI pioneered the use of aluminium action rails, aluminium hammer rest rails and ABS action parts – addressing many of the problems associated with wooden components, such as breakage under continual high stress, and shrinking/swelling due to changes in temperature and humidity.
