Introducing the Yamaha P-223 digital piano

The P Series digital pianos are loved by piano players around the world, providing musicians with the comfortable feel of an acoustic piano in an instrument with a more manageable size and weight. Yamaha’s P-223 is a weighted keyboard packed with sounds and features to satisfy the needs of even the most discerning musicians. Whether you are an advanced piano player with limited space at home, a performer who wants a professional sounding instrument in a compact style, or a serious beginner with a strong desire to learn to play, the P-223 is the perfect choice for you.

Compared to its predecessor, the P-223 features a much shorter and thinner body design. This model looks beautiful from any angle, and blends in well with any room. To achieve a smaller product chassis, Yamaha developed the 88 key GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard, which is built to uncompromising standards and offers the same weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel as the GHS keys used in previous models in the P Series.

The P-223 authentically recreates the gorgeous sounds of Yamaha’s premier concert grand piano, the CFX. This model also uses Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM) Lite technology to replicate the expressive moment-by-moment tonal changes that occur in a real grand piano.

Graded Hammer Compact keyboard

One of the main concerns of piano players when purchasing a digital piano is related to the feel of the keyboard when they play. The GHS keyboards used in the P Series thus far have received high praise from customers for the excellent balance, sufficient soft-to-loud dynamic range, ease of playing, and the accurate, realistic feel they offer.

Premier CFX sounds

The P-223 gifts you with the sound of Yamaha’s top-of-the-line CFX concert grand, with shimmering highs and powerful lows. This model is equipped with VRM Lite, a digital technology that realistically reproduces the complex resonance produced by the strings of a grand piano, changing each time according to how the keys are pressed. With the P-223, you can enjoy the quality sound of a concert grand that’s beloved by renowned pianists, along with its infinitely realistic resonance.

Minimalistic design suits any space

With a modern and minimalistic design that pays homage to the classic aesthetic of a grand piano, the P-223 blends well with the interior of any home, and is intended to offer players the true feeling of playing a grand right from their living room, bedroom, or studio workspace.

A grand piano in a portable design

The P-223 provides a brilliant solution to a common problem that pianists face, being unable to bring their piano with them wherever they go. The P-223 features a stylish and compact design that makes it easy for touring musicians to transport their instrument to live performances, allowing them to look and sound their best in front of the crowd.

Smart Pianist digital piano app

By linking the P-223 with Yamaha’s dedicated Smart Pianist app, you can intuitively perform all operations on the P-223 from the screen of your smart device. There’s no longer any need to pull out the manual to see how things work!

*When connecting a smart device to a musical instrument to use the app, you can either use a cable or connect wirelessly using the Yamaha UD-BT01 (sold separately; for iOS only).

Optional stand and pedal board

The P-223 is compatible with the L-100B stand and LP-5A pedal board, for a more authentic piano playing experience, both sold separately.
