The Knight piano company was established in London in 1936 and became renowned for their exceptional build quality and innovative use of materials. Their uprights, particularly the K10, became hugely popular with piano teachers and in schools, and were for a time the only other manufacturer’s pianos sold at Steinway Hall, London.
The K10 is the definitive Knight upright, an attractive modern style instrument standing at 112cm tall and producing a remarkably rich and resonant tone for a piano of its compact size. This example is a particularly lovely one, manufactured in c.1982 and has been privately owned since new. It features a factory-fitted celeste pedal for quiet practice at unsociable times, making it an excellent choice of family upright piano for the home. The mahogany veneered cabinetry and brass fittings are in excellent order while the action shows very little sign of wear, and it is supplied having been freshly serviced by our technical team.
With a full length 88 note keyboard, the K10 has a well-balanced touch and a warm, mellow tone, and would suit the intermediate player very nicely.
