Introducing the Yamaha Vienna Series V118 Silent upright piano c.2003
Now on display and available for selection, this Yamaha V118 is an especially appealing example, made all the more desirable by its factory-fitted Silent system.
Purchased new by its sole owner in 2003, the piano has been exceptionally well cared for and remains in superb condition throughout. It has seen very little use, particularly in recent years.
At 118cm tall, the V118 is an excellent mid-sized upright for the home, combining a compact footprint with a full, satisfying tone. Its handsome, traditionally styled cabinetry is complemented by an elegant soft-close fallboard.
Built in the UK, the V118 was developed with the European market in mind and shares much of its design with the Yamaha U1N and Kemble K121. An Austrian Spruce soundboard and more mellow voicing give the V118 a warmer, more refined tonal character than many Yamaha uprights of the period.
The factory-fitted Silent system, although now an older-generation technology, remains a useful feature for home practice, allowing the piano to be played privately through headphones.
A beautifully preserved and relatively rare Yamaha upright, this V118 offers excellent build quality, an attractive European-influenced tonal character and the added convenience of an integrated Silent system.
