Designed specifically to fit into compact living spaces in London, Zender became known for producing the smallest upright pianos available yet still retaining an 85-note keyboard, which was still commonplace in the latter part of the 20th Century. Finding favour with families and younger beginners, the Zender upright produces a remarkably rich sound for an instrument of its size, with its keyboard and action cleverly designed to provide a quality of touch reminiscent of much larger pianos.
With a light, easy touch and a lively, strident tone, this piano is recommended for the beginner pianist with limited space yet requiring the inimitable qualities of an acoustic piano. It was manufactured in c.1970 and privately owned since, remaining in excellent overall condition with its cabinetry in good order and action freshly serviced.
