Yamaha B10 upright piano: Where your piano journey begins
The most compact model in the new 2026 Yamaha B Series, the B10 replaces the popular Yamaha B1 and benefits from a number of refinements which make it a perfect choice for beginners, developing players and those returning to the piano.
Standing at 110cm tall, it is larger than its predecessor and the same size as the Kawai K15, undoubtedly the piano it will most often be compared to in the showroom. Musically, the B10 is remarkably refined and resonant for such a compact instrument, its new 5-backpost design, hammers and spruce core soundboard really making a difference, especially in the bass.
The cabinetry of the B10 really sets it apart from the competition, with an elegant, factory-fit soft-close fallboard and full-length, lined music desk which forms part of the fallboard. The Yamaha logo is a smart brass inlay, while the lid sits atop of the piano, instead of slotting in between the sides of the instrument, also aiding sound projection.
Whether for the home, a teaching environment or regular personal practice, the B10 offers a dependable and musically satisfying introduction to Yamaha’s upright pianos and is highly recommended.
