Yamaha B20 upright piano: More depth, more presence, more to explore
The second model in the new 2026 Yamaha B series, the B20 replaces the popular b2 and also the European-inspired model P116. Measuring 116cm tall and the first model in the range to feature traditional style cabinetry with the front pedestal leg and castors, the B20 is 6cm taller than the entry-level B10, and 3cm taller than the outgoing b2.
This means longer strings and a larger soundboard, which along with under-felted hammers translates into a much more powerful and resonant tone than the compact B10 and the old b2, while longer key-sticks provide a better balanced and more controlled touch.
An excellent choice of mid-size upright for the family home or practice space, the B20 is an extremely capable piano and well suited to the intermediate player.
