Introducing the Yamaha WX5 upright piano c.1997
The Yamaha WX5 is based on the Yamaha U5, an upgraded version of the industry standard Yamaha U3 upright piano. Although the U5 was made on the same size 131cm tall frame as the U3, the piano benefited from upgraded mahogany hammers, agraffes to produce a cleaner tone, and an opening front chamber to enhance its projection, much like today's YUS5. The WX model refines the design further by also incorporating a star shaped back frame, designed to reinforce the structure of the piano, ensuring that as much energy as possible is transformed into sound.
Our pre-owned WX5 was manufactured at Yamaha's main facility in Japan in c.1997 and has been well maintained in the years since yet comparatively little used. It produces a powerful and resonant tone, not unlike that of a YUS5, with a very responsive and controlled touch. It would be an excellent choice for the advanced student, and with such a high specification will certainly be worth considering over a reconditioned or second hand U3.
The piano is freshly serviced and polished by our workshop technicians and is on display, ready for selection and delivery.
