Yamaha GB1K

The Yamaha GB1K is 5’0 (151cm) in length and is the smallest grand piano model in Yamaha’s range. It is produced in Yamaha’s Indonesian factory, yet its design is influenced by that of the class leading Conservatoire C Series pianos, including a solid soundboard, soft closing fallboard and a sostenuto pedal to enable selective sustain. It remains one of our most popular new piano models and delivers excellent performance at a great price.

The GB1’s size however gives it very similar string length and soundboard size to the taller upright offerings including the U3 and YUS3. The GB1K is similarly priced to the Japanese built U3, however the U3 is made from more refined components, including a more mature spruce soundboard with a tighter grain and under-felted hammers.

A grand piano will always play more responsively than an upright piano, the GB1K is an incredibly good value instrument and it comes a five-year warranty for your peace of mind. The U3S and the GB1K are always on display alongside each other and ready to try at our Haslemere showroom.
