The P116 is the smaller of the two P Series models, which are designed with the British and European home pianist in mind. Soft styling coupled with a mellow voicing makes for a very different piano to the b and U series, while a European spruce soundboard delivers a distinctly warm and rich tone. The only piano in Yamaha's range that is built on a 116cm tall frame, the P116 is beautifully proportioned and is a popular size for the home.

Supplied new by Chamberlain Pianos in 2016, this piano has had one owner from new and has been little used in recent years. The piano comes factory fitted with the acclaimed SH Silent system, meaning it can be played through headphones making it completely silent to everyone but the pianist. With refinements including binaural sampling and 256 notes of polyphony, along with USB audio recording and MIDI connectivity, our second hand Yamaha P116 Silent Piano is an excellent option for the home, studio, or practice space.

Activate the silent mode and a rail moves between the hammers and the strings to 'switch off' the acoustic piano. Yamaha's highly sophisticated non-contact sensor technology captures the precise movement of each key, a cleverly designed alagorithm precisely simulates the movements of the hammers as they strike the strings, accurately recreating the acoustic piano performance exactly as the pianist intended. The beautiful sound of the Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial concert grands is delivered through your headphones.

SH Silent system

Select from a pallet of 19 high quality instrument voices to suit your musical genre. SH also includes a metronome, 2 track record facility and USB audio recorder, all of which can be controlled via the sleek and intuitive control panel. A bank of 480 XG voices are included for MIDI file playback, while the piano also benefits from MIDI IN/OUT ports enabling it to be used as a controller keyboard.

Binaural Sampling

The main Yamaha CFX concert grand piano sound has been captured from the perspective of the pianist to create a truly spacial and immersive sound. The piano sounds like it is in front of you rather than in your ears, which also reduces fatigue and enables you to practice for longer!

Installation at the Yamaha factory

Unlike most silent systems, Yamaha's Silent systems are installed during the manufacturing process. Yamaha piano actions are designed to accomodate Silent systems, so you can be sure of the highest quality performance and reliability. Nothing has been compromised!
